Rewards
for equestrian media persons |
The UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, under the
instructions of its Chairman His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Sultan
bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, has decided to institute special awards
for media persons covering the equestrian activities in the
country, both in Arabic and English
Taleb Dhaher Al Muhairi, Secretary General of the Federation,
stated that the awards, which will be an annual event from
2008-2009 season, will be given in recognition of the work
from various media viz., print, radio, television etc.
While thanking the media for their continuous support to boost
equestrianism not only in the country but worldwide, Taleb
said a new image has been created for the country in general
and equestrian activities in particular following the crucial
media role. Keeping this in view, he said His Excellency Dr.
Sheikh Sultan feels that recognition of good work is a boost
for any individual and merit should be given when it is worth
it.
The Secretary General added that details of the awards will be
announced soon which will comprise all disciplines of
equestrian sports including endurance, show jumping and flat
racing. The categories will include Best layout, Best
Coverage, Best Report, Best Photography and other related
topics. |
