Endurance Cup On November 1
Day also features two Federation Qualifiers |

The season's inaugural endurance ride will be held on
Saturday, November 1, 2008, at the Bou Thib Endurance Village,
Al Khatem, Abu Dhabi.
The UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, in cooperation with
the Emirates Heritage Club, Abu Dhabi, is organizing the Bou
Thib Endurance Cup for Junior and Young Riders. Over 55
youngsters have already confirmed their participation for the
CEN-JY 100-km ride, which will be run in four phases of 30 km,
30 km, 24 km and 16 km respectively. The ride will being at 6
a.m. |

The day will also feature two Federation Qualifying rounds of
40 km and 80 km respectively which has attracted a field of
over 170 riders. Qualifying riders are organized by the UAE
Equestrian Federation to enable the riders to qualify to
participate in long-distance rides.
All the rides are being held under the patronage of Sheikh
Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman
of the Emirates Heritage Club.
Pre-ride inspection for the rides will be held on Friday,
October 31, 2008, at the Endurance Village between 3 and 4.30
pm. |

Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Juma Al Maktoum, Sheikh Abdullah bin
Faisal Al Qassimi, Sheikh Saqr bin Faisal Al Qassimi, Munthar
Ahmed Al Bloushi, Rashed Ahmed Al Bloushi, Ali Ghanem Al
Marri, Khalifa Ghanim Al Marri, Mara Khalid Ahmed bin Sulayem,
Ahmed Tariq Abdullah Al Mutawa, Muhanad Ali Khalfan Al
Abdullah, Buti Mohd. Khalaf Al Marri, Hamad Ibrahim, and
Abdullah Al Marzouqi are some of the contenders for the
juniors championship on the opening day.
The Bou Thib Endurance Village, which is part of the Emirates
Heritage Club, is the second international endurance village
in Abu Dhabi and the third in the UAE. The other two endurance
villages are Emirates International Endurance Village, Al
Wathba, Abu Dhabi and Dubai Endurance City, Seih Assalem,
Dubai. Another upcoming endurance village in the Capital is
the Al Asayel Endurance Village, which is currently featuring
rides exclusively for ladies. One of the rides of pivotal
importance this season will be the Al Asayel Village is the
GCC Women's Championship which will be held in January.
The Emirates Heritage Club is closely involved in the
development of several traditional and cultural activities and
sports in the country, including endurance riding. The club
also provides vital training facilities for children in the
UAE and the opening of its modern and excellently planned
endurance village has been welcomed by the equestrian
fraternity as an important step in the development and
teaching of endurance riding in the UAE.
Bou Thib is located past Al Wathba on the left side of the Abu
Dhabi-Al Ain highway. One can also reach the Bou Thib
Endurance Village from different emirates by following these
directions:
From Abu Dhabi- On Al Ain Road at exit for Zayed Military
City, turn left and follow signs.
From Dubai- On Abu Dhabi Road at Al Mafraq bridge take exit to
Al Ain Road and continue up to exit for Zayed Military City,
turn left and follow signs.
From Al Ain- On Abu Dhabi Road at Al Khatem Bridge exit right
and follow signs. |
