Show jumping Championship at Al Safinat Stables |
This week's show jumping competitions will be hosted by a new
stables Al Safinat Stables, which is situated between Sharjah
and Ajman.
For the first time, the Al Safinat Stables is organising the
show jumping championship which will run for three days from
November 27 to November 29, 2008. The Stables have also
managed to rope in several sponsors for the championship.
The three-day show will have several categories of jumping and
have been divided into Big Tour, Medium Tour and Small Tour.
Only Category C riders with horses seven years or younger can
participate in the Small Tour. Medium Tour and Big Tour will
feature only Category A and B riders. Category C riders can
enter with only one horse whereas Category A and B riders are
allowed with two horses.
Grand Prix, Medium Grand Prix, Small Grand Prix will be held
on Saturday, November 29. The Minister of Higher Education is
sponsoring the Grand prix and will be offering Dh 27,000 in
cash and a car for the winner. Gulf Ice Factory is sponsoring
Medium Grand Prix with a prize money of Dh 16,000 and Zero Two
which is sponsoring the Small Grand Prix will give away Dh
10,000 as cash prize. All in all, an amount of dh 110,000 will
be given away as prizes during the Championship.
Thursday's events include Al Sakeb opening Stakes, Al Fursan
Speed Stakes and Kingsland Speed Stakes and Friday's events
will be Trust Equine Industry Prize, Ajman Stud Prize and Al
Hulaifi Equestrian Club Prize.
The officials for championship include Atef Shawky (NF
Representative), Khalil Ibrahim (Jury President), Ms Lisa
Hareb and Hassan Mousa (judges), Ali Mhajer and Abdul Raouf
(NF Stewards), Johnen Michael (Course Designer) and Dr Adib
